To me, power is reading. I don’t think you can have power without reading, or be empowered without reading.

The enrolment process

1. Expression of Interest

We ask Headteachers who are interested in running DigiSmart in their school to submit our Expression of Interest form. This gives us their details and also gives them an opportunity to tell us why they wish to offer the project.

  • Expressions of Interest can be submitted from 23rd February 2010.
  • The closing date for submissions is end June 2010.

We review all EOIs and aim to inform schools of the outcome within a month of submission.

2. Online Enrolment

Our enrolment process for all schools confirmed as participating in the project as from September starts in June 2010.

The process must be completed by each participating school no later than the end of the Summer Term 2010. This gives us sufficient time to make all the necessary arrangements and to order the quantities of materials needed.

The enrolment process involves:

Partnership Agreement
All partner schools for 2010/11 will be asked to accept the terms of our Partnership Agreement.

Registering the tutors
Accepting the Partnership Terms gives access to our online enrolment area in order to provide essential set up information. This includes registering the names and contact details of those who will be acting as the DigiSmart tutors.

Staff Development booking
Lead Tutors who will be new to DigiSmart are required to attend a Staff Development Day. These full-day Staff Development events will be held in September 2010.

Staff Development dates and venues are published in the online enrolment area and schools can select their preferred option.
