Gains for children
The structured, progressional nature of the DigiSmart programme has been specifically designed to enable under-achieving Year 5 children to enjoy a successful learning experience.
This results in strong attainment gains and improved personal and social development, as well as children being better able to engage back in the classroom.
Each year we assess aspects of project activity to ensure that DigiSmart is improving children’s educational achievments in quantifiable ways. A core aim is to raise attainment in ICT and literacy. We have a body of evidence gathered over several years showing consistently strong improvements in these areas.
Children also become more confident and willing to engage - both in DigiSmart and back in class too. They develop skills and confidence beyond any previous expectations and progress through the programme to a point where they are able to stand up and present their work to an audience - not only to the DigiSmart group but at school assemblies and other public events.
Feedback from schools and parents tells us that children's whole demeanour changes - they participate more fully at school and are happier as individuals because they have experienced success and the self-belief this brings.

“I'm sad that DigiSmart has ended but I will never stop being DigiSmart.”
