Unless all citizens are able to learn and apply a wide set of literacy skills, mere access to technology will mean very little to them.

Monitoring and support

Monitoring enables DigiSmart to assess how well the programme aims and objectives are being met in relation to significantly improved learning and well-being for the target group of children. It is also a mechanism for providing continuing professional development support to tutors.

DigiSmart provides monitoring and support across the year by phone, email and regular news updates. DigiSmart staff visit schools in order to offer constructive guidance and encouragement, to see DigiSmart in action with the children and to learn from schools’ experiences.

Children, tutors, headteachers and parents are actively encouraged to give their feedback on all aspects of DigiSmart. This is used to inform ongoing reviews of programme content and delivery.

The monitoring and support provided by DigiSmart is part of its continuing commitment to quality assurance and building partnerships with schools.
